Hobble Creek Half Marathon

Race Overview

The race begins about six miles outside the city of Springville, at the Balsam Campground just off Right Fork Hobble Creek Road, and takes runners 13.1 miles along a course that winds back into town for the finish at Mapleton City Park.

With an overall elevation drop of about 1,253 feet from the starting line to the finish line, the course is set up perfectly for runners looking to record personal record times. Just over 1,000 runners completed the race in 2007, which saw the course changed somewhat from previous years — the race finished at Mapleton instead of the former finish line near South Canyon Drive.

Participants need to be ready early for the race — buses transporting runners to the starting line leave from the Mapleton City Park between 6:00 and 6:15 AM on the morning of the race. As an added bonus, all of the race's women finishers receive flowers presented by the local florist Steiners House of Flowers.
